Team leaders, not only lead walks, but participate in the assisting in any way possible to ensure an enjoyable and safe walk for everyone. On every walk will there will be more than one person capable of leading the walk with any number of assistants and advisors carrying out a multitude of tasks. These tasks will include collectiong registration forms, acting as middle and back markers, helping people, local knowledge, charity collectors, cairn repair and "gardening" and the "pioneering" and selection of new walks during April & May each year.

How do I become a team leader?

You must be prepared to assist in all of the above tasks and be able to "go out" and learn a route. It usually takes a couple of "recce" walks before you will remember a route. Existing team members will probably be only too glad to help you.
